You are eligible for Flying branch and Ground duty branches of IAF through NDA entry (UPSC) provide you had studied Maths, Physics and Chemistry at 10+2.

If you are habitually wearing glasses than you are not eligible for Flying branch.

Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma
First And The Only Indian To Travel To Space

Commissioned in the Indian Air Force as a Pilot Officer in 1970. Then a Squadron Leader to embark on a historic mission in 1984 as a part of a joint space program between ISRO and the Soviet Intercosmos space program. He spent eight days in space aboard the Salyut 7 space station.

He was conferred with the honour of ‘Hero of Soviet Union’ upon his return from space.

First IAF Officer To Play For The Indian Women Cricket Team

Commissioned in the Indian Air Force as an Air Traffic Control Officer on 30 June 2012, Squadron Leader Shikha Pandey is the first IAF officer to play for the Indian Women cricket team and made her international debut in the year 2014.

She has represented India in all 3 formats and has been part of 5 World Cups: 2014 (T20), 2016 (T20), 2017, 2020 (T20) and 2021.

Honoured With The Vayu Sena Medal For His Exemplary Contribution During The Kargil War

In 1999 during the Kargil War, the Indian Air Force was given a unique responsibility, to evict the enemy from high-altitude posts.

Group Captain Shreepad Tokekar was a pilot during the conflict. He was then a Flight Lieutenant and was flying the Mirage 2000.was pressed into action as it was the only aircraft that could deliver.
