California Community Colleges works with ID.me to verify the identity of students who apply to California community colleges using CCCApply. This streamlines and secures both the admissions and financial aid process while also safeguarding student information.

The ID.me role in this partnership is only for identity verification. ID.me does not approve admissions or financial aid applications. Please read the ID.me guide before beginning your CCCapplication.

Things you should know:

  1. We strongly recommend that you provide your social security number on the application. This will enable you to retrieve your myGAV login more quickly, apply for financial aid, and claim the education tax credit that you will be eligible for.
  2. If you are a temporary/permanent resident, provide the INS number from your residency card.
  3. Be sure to check for accuracy. Any mistakes or missing information will delay the processing of your application.
  4. Once your application has been submitted, you will receive an e-mail confirming receipt of your application. The processing time of your application may take up to 3 business days (excluding weekends and holidays).
  5. After your application has been processed, you will receive an e-mail with information on how to obtain your Gavilan ID number and PIN.
